IMAGES THEATRE COMPANY presents the nationally acclaimed one-man show, “THROUGH
THE NIGHT” as the second show of their 2009/2010 season at the Guild Theater. “THROUGH THE
NIGHT is written and performed by New York’s, Daniel Beaty who is known nationally for his previously acclaimed, Off-Broadway,
Obie Award winning, one-man show, EMERGENCE-SEE!
"THROUGH THE NIGHT” was originally directed by Veteran Oz Scott
whose work includes a multitude of television, film, and theater credits. In March 09, “THROUGH
THE NIGHT” debuted at the famed Broadway Director Kenny Leon’s, True Colors Theater in Atlanta under the working
title of “RESURRECTION.” The show also was highlighted and performed at the North Carolina,
National Black Theatre Festival. This is the show’s West Coast Premiere.
Beaty uses a unique blend of music, poetry, comedy, and drama to move seamlessly
through six Black male characters, aged 10 -60 who are facing issues of addiction, incarceration, disease and disenfranchisement.
Telling their stories, he cries, talks, sings, laughs, recites spoken word poetry and uses words to trigger lighting
fast character changes, while weaving a powerful story about the African-American male through the lens of his characters.
Produced by Images Theatre Company, “THROUGH THE NIGHT” will run for
one weekend only at the Guild Theater, located at 2828 35th Street (B’way and 35th) in Sacramento,
CA 95817. There
will only be 3 performances as follows:
· Friday, November 6, 2009, 8:00 p.m., · Saturday, November 7, 2009, 8:00 p.m., and ·
Sunday, November 8, 2009, 3:00 p.m. matinee.
